Unanswered 30 to 45 6 to 10 However, if there was a way to alleviate the blatent favoritism and show a better example to our children that as long as you try hard it doesn matter what parent is involved you will progress.
North East 30 to 45 1 to 5 Offer more time slots on activities, so working parents can sign children up for opportunities.
North East 30 to 45 Over 10 They do the best with what they have. I hope the development of hilltop brings something better. I hope "someone" has the insight to plan for a great recreation/field space/community center. We should sell the one we have and branch out and do it right.
North East 30 to 45 Over 10 It is very disheartening to see Mr Gennario & his cohorts require the lacrosse community in this town to jump through hoops to maintain a lacrosse program at the highschool level when so very many children clearly enjoy the sport & will benefit from the program's success at all levels.
North East 46 to 60 Over 10 Always need more field space.
North East 46 to 60 Over 10 I'va always been against fathers coaching because of bias, but realize the alternative would be expensive.
North West 30 to 45 Over 10 Last year the girls softball program was poorly run
North West 46 to 60 Over 10 I have always liked the youth programs (especially the summer programs) for our children. My two children have gone from Tot Lot through Summer Adventure, however I wish there was something available for them after Summer Adventure. I did at one time speak to Eric about that, he told me they had tried things but the kids wouldn't go to them.. I think that is the most important time, when they really need something available to them to keep them busy so they don't get into trouble. I wish someone could find some program they would enjoy and go to. Since the community center was built, there are many more options available for our children and I think that's great.
North West 46 to 60 Over 10 My kids are in their 20's...
North West 46 to 60 Over 10 There are not many programs for middle schoolers.
North West 46 to 60 Over 10 With the Youth football and baseball leagues run by parent organizations, funded by parents of the participating children, there are few other "youth programs" provided by the town.
South East 30 to 45 1 to 5 Baseball coaches (age 5-10'ish) don't get that every kid should play every position each week. Too much emphasis on winning. The same kids play the infield each week. 3rd grade too young to pitch. Makes games too long and kids get hurt or become afraid of the ball. No time spent teaching pitching or batting skills.
South East 30 to 45 6 to 10 The youth programs are very good in Verona. It's the parents who have to remember that they are children and that it's only a game!
South East 30 to 45 Over 10 Too many...let's save money.
South East 30 to 45 Over 10 see above
South East 30 to 45 Over 10 My children are young and can only participate in the summer programs and the community center cooking classes and projects. As they get older I hope to find the quality of programs to continue to increase.
South West 30 to 45 6 to 10 There are great parents and volunteers that work hard to maintain these programs. The recreational programs are a true benefit.
South West 30 to 45 6 to 10 All sports should be treated equally by the town with respect to field/resource allocation.
South West 30 to 45 Over 10 don't use
South West 30 to 45 Over 10 the numbers of the kids are growing dramaticlly over the last few yrs,and we have to focus on the growth of the children involed in the programs... and we are not....
South West 30 to 45 Over 10 The cost has been prohibitive lately. Lacrosse for a 2nd and 7th grader cost $185.00 plus a $ 50.00 jersey deposit plus a required $100.00 fund raising donation - which will also come out of my pocket. Now, I have to go out and buy about $250 worth of equipment. A basic basketball program for my 2nd grader, consisting of 4, 45 minute sessions is $50.00. Doesn't this sound out of line to you?
South West 30 to 45 Over 10 there could be more open gym time as mentioned above
